Tourism New Zealand is a Crown agent established to carry out specific functions under the New Zealand Tourism Board Act 1991 (the Tourism Act). TNZ’s main objective is to market New Zealand as an international visitor destination for the long-term benefit of New Zealand.

Membership of the Board
The Board has between five and nine members, in accordance with the Act. Board members are appointed by the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality for terms of up to three years. Members may be reappointed on the expiry of their term. Members may be removed by the Minister at any time.
