East Tamaki, Auckland
We have accumulated a significant amount of latex waste from a customer. We need to treat and discharge this waste.
Part of the job will involve transporting pods around one tonne in weight which are stacked reasonably high. This will be done with a forklift. You will then treat and discharge waste water utilising a simple process of:
- Pumping untreated waste into a container
- Using two chemicals to separate water from the latex
- Pumping the waste through a shear to ensure we remove solids
- Getting the treated water sampled for discharge
- Discharging the clean water.
The process is strict but simple and does not require any hard physical or particularly hazardous work. You will have to be comfortable working in an environment that doesn't smell pleasant.
You will need to be reliable and have a forklift license and experience with operation . We will provide on site training on the process for waste treatment, so no other experience is needed.
There is an easy bus route to the location. Hours and the end date are negotiable. The range for hours will be from around 25-40 per week.
This would suit anyone looking to get into the chemical industry, make contacts with two formulating chemists, and learn the application of water treatment.
