Alpha Recruitment – Wellington Central, North IslandOur government client is looking for a legal professional to hit the ground running! The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in litigation, with a focus on senior-level responsibilities. You will join a small proceedings team consisting of a Senior Legal Counsel, Legal Counsel, and one administrative staff member (a team of 4).The role requires someone who can independently conduct litigation with health practitioners and manage human rights reviews. A background in health is ideal, but not essential. Experience in human rights would be a bonus. We are looking for someone who is purpose-driven and passionate about why they want to work here,
as people genuinely enjoy the meaningful work we do.Your Skills & Experience:5 years + PQEExperience in undertaking and managing litigation at senior levelExcellent research and writing skillsAbility to solve complex issues/casesCarry a New Zealand practicing certificate, or have the ability to obtain one on commencementAnalytical and critical thinkingOur client offers benefits such as 4 weeks of annual leave, 10 days of sick leave, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by caring about human rights in New Zealand through the work we do. Initially, you'll spend 2 to 3 months in the office to get to know the team, and once settled, you'll have the flexibility to work 2 to 3 days in the office.
