About Metal Skills
The team at Metal Skills undertake product design, laser cutting, punching, folding, welding and powder coating, all under one roof. They are New Zealand’s only single-source location for a true end-to-end manufacturing solutions for sheet metal fabricated products. Based in East Tamaki, they’re in a handy location to East and South Auckland.
About the role:
As the Powder Coating Applicator, you will perform day to day production tasks,
including daily powder coating applications. You will also be responsible for:
- Organising parts and/or material for powder coat processing
- Oversee cleaning of parts before powder coat process. (Sanding, Buffing and Chemical wipe)
- Providing detailed and accurate logging within MRP system in accordance with SOP’s
- Checking material is to the correct specifications when required.
- Working with team members to maximise productivity and efficiency
- Ensuring that work practices are in the guidelines of OSH
- Keeping the work area tidy, organised, and maintained
This is a full-time role working Monday to Thursday Morning Shift (4.30am – 3pm)
Previous experience in a powder coating role is preferred, however most importantly you will:
- Have the ability to complete tasks within expected time frames
- Have strong communication skills
- Be a team player
- Have good attention to detail and organisation skills
- Be flexible to work shift work and overtime if required
- Be mechanically minded
